Two-faced

When did John McCain become a useless, marginalized political hack? Speaking on the upcoming senate non-binding resolutions on Iraq, McCain said this about the impending resolutions:

This is a vote of no confidence in both the mission and the troops who are going over there.

Anyone, especially a United States politician, who uses this tired, pathetic argument against his political opponents is both questionable in patriotism and questionable in moral. Attaching an opinion of our troops to an opinion of our foreign policy is deporable partisan hackery usually only reserved for AM radio and FOX News Channel. Maybe McCain is thinking he’d like to work in media hackery after he loses in the 2008 primaries.

Bush takes command of the obvious

Get up this morning and check the headlines on Newsvine and top of the list is this (headline may change throughout the day):
Bush says 'Pull my finger'
Does anyone laugh? Do they break out into full guffaw when he says shit like this? Do you think maybe the insurgents have hurt the effort? Just a bit, huh? I certainly hope the next question went like this:

Question asker: Mr. President, given what you just said, WTF?

The Decider: Uh, uh, BLT. (snarky laugh). Gotcha there didn’t I Stretch?

I’ve begun repeating a phrase in my head when I see stuff like this. In my head, in the driest tone I can muster, I repeat “Worst. President. Ever.”

More on this to come, Rob
