Looks like there were some unfriendly conversations on the phones this morning.

Is anyone else laughing that this morning the only news you could find on Rumsfeld was that the Democratic victory did not mean that he was gone…

…and then he was gone.

What really impresses me is the way Republicans can turn on a dime. Yesterday Rumsfeld was the man through 2008. It would appear that there was a mutiny of sorts within the GOP leadership last night that resulted in a phone call this morning to Bush and Rove. In a year when Americans voted on their disapproval of a disastrous war, Bush and Rove’s unfettered support of Rummy definitely had a hand in bringing the party down.

Yet another embarrassment. Does anyone know where a person can get a HUGE loan of political capital?
